Community Garden

Getting ready for Spring
RGCF welcomes everyone– from experienced gardeners to total beginners– to join the Community Garden. The Garden occupies two acres in the northwest corner of Los Poblanos Open Space. Garden level RGCF members may join the Garden and grow one or more rows of food for themselves or to donate to a local food bank.
Alvarado Elementary School maintains a wildlife habitat at the north end of the garden and uses the area for many class activities. School and community groups visit the Garden, learn how to grow food and help maintain the crops and hedgerow.
Albuquerque Area Master Gardeners experiment with new varieties and practices in the Millennium Demonstration Garden. They are available weekly to instruct visiting groups and consult with gardeners.

Tomatoes in the Community Garden
RGCF provides weekly furrow irrigation, tools, seeds and information for members who join the Community Garden. Garden members gain information, support and friendship as they work alongside one another tending their rows.
For information, email: education@riograndefarm.org. To join, please visit the “Garden Membership” section of this website. See you at the Garden!
